Saint Isidore of Seville
St. Isidore of Seville is considered the patron saint of technology, internet users, computer users, and Twitter. Pope St. John Paul II named Isidore the patron saint of the internet as it became more prevalent in everyday life, even though Isidore lived in 600 AD, a few years before the internet's creation. Isidore is considered the patron saint because of his dedication to learning, his contributions to progress, and his encyclopedia, which was considered very technologically advanced at the time. Isidore also wrote many books on topics such as grammar, history, astronomy, geography, and theology.
Prayer before Logging on to the Internet
Almighty and eternal God, who has created us in your image and asked us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Your only-begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we ask You, that through the intercession of Saint Isidore, bishop and doctor, during our journeys through the Internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to You and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of Intercession to St. Isidore of Seville
O holy Isidore, blessed by God with wisdom and understanding, you dedicated your life to the pursuit of knowledge and the service of the Church. As I seek to grow in my faith and understanding, I ask for your intercession.
Grant me the humility and openness to learn from others, the discipline and determination to study and work hard, and the wisdom and discernment to use my gifts and talents for the glory of God.
Help me to follow your example of holiness and devotion, and to use my knowledge and understanding to serve others and bring them closer to Christ.
Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us St. Isidore of Seville as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the love of You he showed from the time he was a young student and throughout his whole life.
St. Isidore of Seville, you studied under the guidance of your older brother, St. Leander, during your youth. Though your early school experience was very harsh, you grew to love learning.
Please bring my petitions before the throne of God!
You understood the importance of education. As an archbishop, you promoted the study of theology, grammar, history, geography, and other subjects. You worked to help lead your people closer to God through study.
Pray for me, that I may always be eager to learn more about God. Pray that I may be as eager to serve God as you were.
